For Mom, Dad and Sarah it started with a call. I was out of town, so for me, it started with a text:
"Just to let you know jayson was in a motorcycle accident....We are on our way there now and will update you more when I know more."What thoughts immediately go through your head? Every angle, every extreme, every scenario flashes through your head.
Saturday evening was my first time seeing him, and hearing all of the stories from all of the people who had been with him from the first moments. From laughter to tears, we-they- had been through every extreme emotion. But everywhere we went, everyone we talked to, no matter how well they knew Jason (or our family) we could feel them collectively reaching out to us with their thoughts and prayers.
Today brings with it news of being moved out of the ICU and searching for rehab hospitals. Friends and family have come and gone and come back again. Words cannot do justice what you all have done for us by just having us in your thoughts.
We have a long journey ahead of us. We'll have some stories to tell and some advice to give. This blog will be all of our stories, from the beginning to wherever we end up and everything in between. The entries will be authored by all of us (credit given in the title).
We can't thank you all enough.
But we'll try anyway, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
